Hasegawa 1/72 Vaught F4-U Corsair. Base and finish

Previously on... We had just ... Did I say we? I had just put the decals on and the propeller was laying on the cutting mat. Oh the drama. We got a man in to do the propeller. He did a great job. The base. I know, it's not Tracy Island but we all have to start somewhere. An ornamental serving tray from the local DAISO 100yen shop. (Pound/Dollar shop to you foreigners not in Japan.) It cost me 110 yen. Who would have guessed. (The 10 yen is tax). Old Bengi Franks was right. Glue some thick card cut out to match the shape of the tray. Cut separating lines, Paint patchily with different diluted grey and brown mixes. Add a little grass coming through the cracks and we are done. Now where did I put that plane? Ta da..... So, my first model back in the front lines. What did you think?

1/72 Hasegawa Cruiser tank. Crusader mark III. Putting the stuff in the box together.

It's time to see the Crusader Mk III rise up like a phoenix from the box. This is the Crusader Mk III. This is the box. The Churchill MK VII crocodile. The Churchill Crocodile was a specialised variant of the British Churchill tank used during World War II. It was equipped with a flamethrower system known as the ‘Crocodile’ And which gave the variant its name. It was designed primarily for the purpose of providing close support to infantry by projecting a stream of fire towards enemy positions. The Crocodile flamethrower system consisted of a large fuel trailer towed behind the Churchill tank. The trailer contained a substantial amount of fuel, typically around 400 gallons (1,818 liters), which was pressurized by a gas generator mounted on the tank. The fuel was expelled through a long, flexible hose attached to the tank's turret, terminating in a nozzle mounted on the hull front. The range of the Crocodile flamethrower system was relatively short, typically around 120 yards (110 meters), but it was highly effective in close-quarters combat.
